Stunning illustrated typography on dark backgrounds

A while ago I did a showcase where I highlighted some great dark illustration examples. I decided to do something in the same vein as that and took a look at typography based illustration on a dark background.

8 ways to get good traffic

Getting visitors to your site is only half of the equation. It serves no purpose if visitors come to your site, wait until it loads and then instantly browse on to the next thing because your site simply doesn't interest them. You have to get the right type of traffic to your site.

A different inspiration : Masters of digital painting

While I always look at (web) design and illustration for inspiration I've also often been inspired by totally different things. At first I thought I was just a weird one, but when I was over at fellow blogger Liam's site I noticed that I'm not the only one with a knack for different inspiration sources.

What community should you be active on?

Communities are great for creatives. You get to mingle with people who have the same interests as you, learn from each other, collaborate and it might even lead to opportunities. Another strong point of being on a community is that you're getting yourself "out there". Your exposing your work and yourself.

I got a mail from Matthew Smith this morning advising me to take a look at his new site Pattern Tap. Pattern tap is a inspiration site for web designers with a unique twist. Instead of the usual pretty site gallery Pattern tap allows you to look for inspiration on certain elements.

Five illustrators who deserve more love

One thing I've learned during my time as a blogger is that readers of (web)design and illustration blogs love showcases and collections. There's of course nothing wrong with this, I'm guilty of it myself, it's an easy way to see new work and explore new artists. With this in mind I started writing another such post yesterday where I was going to showcase the best commercial illustrators on the Behance network like I promised a few posts back.
